This Privacy Policy describes how HEG ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information through our mobile applications ("Apps"). We comply with the Korean Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws to safeguard your privacy.

Our Apps do not all collect the same information. Each section below states which Apps it applies to. In particular, alive does not display ads, does not use advertising identifiers, does not request location permission, and has no email, phone, or social sign-in.

1. Information We Collect

Location data is collected only when you grant location permission within the app. You can revoke this permission at any time through your device settings.

1-4. Information Collected by alive (alive only)

alive has no user accounts. You are identified only by a device-level identifier, and we never ask for your name, email address, or phone number.

Your nickname, selected emotion, and country are visible to other users in the app's feed and globe screens. Please do not use a nickname that identifies you personally. Server access logs may temporarily contain your IP address as part of normal network operation; we do not store IP addresses in our application database.

alive does not use Google AdMob, does not collect advertising identifiers, and includes no crash reporting SDK.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

Service delivery: Providing core app functionality and content
Account management: User registration, identity verification, fraud prevention (Driven)
Service improvement: Usage statistics analysis, bug detection and fixes
Advertising: Displaying personalized ads via Google AdMob (not applicable to alive)
Push notifications: Service updates and relevant information (with user consent)
Community features (alive): Showing your nickname, selected emotion, and country to other users, and notifying other users when you check in

3. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, after which it is promptly destroyed.

Account data (Driven): Deleted immediately upon account deletion
Automatically collected data: Retained for up to 1 year from collection, then destroyed
Location data: Used temporarily and not stored separately
alive check-in records and nickname: Retained while you continue to use the app, and deleted when you request deletion (see Section 6)
alive push notification token: Deleted together with your check-in records

Where retention is required by applicable law, we retain the data for the legally mandated period:

Records of advertising and promotional activities: 6 months (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
Communication confirmation data: 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)

4. Sharing Information with Third Parties

We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following circumstances:

When you have given prior consent
When required by law or to comply with legal obligations

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party service providers to operate our Apps:

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal information
Request correction or deletion of your personal information
Request suspension of processing your personal information
Delete your account (Driven)

6-1. Requesting Deletion of Your alive Data

alive does not currently provide an in-app deletion option. To have your alive data deleted, email us at the address listed on the app's store page with the nickname shown in the app. On request we delete your nickname, check-in history, time zone, and push notification token from our database without undue delay and in any case within 30 days. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete data already stored on our servers.

7. Data Destruction

Procedure: Once the purpose of collection is fulfilled, personal information is destroyed after the retention period specified by internal policy or applicable law.
Method: Electronic files are permanently deleted using technical methods that prevent recovery.

8. Advertising Identifiers and Personalized Ads (Airport Parking · Driven · Hanwoo Finder)

These Apps display ads through Google AdMob, which may use advertising identifiers (ADID/IDFA). alive shows no ads and does not use advertising identifiers. You can manage your advertising preferences:

Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset or delete advertising ID
iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Disable tracking for the app

9. Data Security

We implement the following measures to protect your personal information:

Minimizing and managing access to personal information
Encrypting data in transit (SSL/TLS)
Technical safeguards against unauthorized access and hacking

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you through an in-app notice at least 7 days before the changes take effect.
